ENUGU — The drive to translate government policies into real opportunities for young Nigerians will receive a major boost in Enugu on Thursday as Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026 brings together thousands of youths around employment, education, entrepreneurship and skills opportunities.
The maiden edition of the youth-focused programme, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the International Conference Centre, Enugu, is emerging as a significant platform for advancing the youth empowerment priorities of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration while reinforcing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the grassroots.
Convened by the Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State at the Federal Character Commission, Hon. Peter Ogbonna Eze, the programme is themed “Beyond Quotas: Unlocking Opportunities for Enugu Youths Through the Federal Character Commission.”
The event reflects a growing convergence between the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope vision and Governor Mbah’s development strategy for Enugu, particularly in the areas of human capital development, skills acquisition, employment, digital transformation, entrepreneurship and economic inclusion.
For the Mbah administration, investing in young people is central to building a more productive and competitive Enugu. The state government has continued to pursue programmes aimed at equipping youths with practical and digital skills while expanding pathways into employment, enterprise and emerging economic sectors.
At the national level, President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has placed economic empowerment, job creation, youth development and opportunities for Nigerians at the heart of its reform agenda.
Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026 therefore provides a direct platform for connecting these policy priorities with the people they are designed to serve—the youths.
Participants will receive practical information on employment opportunities, scholarships, grants, fellowships, internships, entrepreneurship support, digital careers, professional development and leadership opportunities, while gaining access to networks that can help them position themselves for emerging opportunities.
The initiative also seeks to address a critical challenge confronting many young people: lack of access to timely and reliable information about government and institutional opportunities.
Hon. Eze has urged Enugu youths to seize the opportunity, stressing the importance of preparation, relevant skills and actively pursuing available opportunities.
The event is expected to attract students, graduates, entrepreneurs, innovators, job seekers and young professionals from across the state, creating a convergence of government policy, private initiative and youth ambition.
More significantly, the gathering demonstrates how Federal Government policies can be connected with state-level development initiatives to produce tangible opportunities for citizens, strengthening the partnership between the Federal Government and Enugu State in advancing youth development.
As Enugu continues its drive towards a more productive, digitally enabled and investment-friendly economy under Governor Peter Mbah, initiatives such as Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026 provide an avenue for young people to become active participants in that transformation.
The message is clear: the Renewed Hope Agenda must be felt by the people, and Enugu’s youths must be positioned to benefit from the opportunities it creates.
Young people across Enugu are therefore encouraged to attend the event, engage with speakers and opportunity providers, ask questions, build networks and take the first step towards transforming available opportunities into tangible results.
Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026 is more than a youth gathering—it is a strategic bridge between government policy and the aspirations of Enugu’s young population, reinforcing the shared commitment of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah to building a future where young Nigerians have the opportunity to work, innovate, create wealth and lead.
Enugu Media Village (EMV), the Most Updated Online News Platform, will continue to report relevant developments and initiatives advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Peter Mbah’s development vision for Enugu State.
