Free Organic Fertilizer Distribution Targets Improved Food Production and Better Harvests in Mbulu Owo.

The administration of Enugu State Governor, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has continued to strengthen support for farmers across the state, with the distribution of free organic fertilizer to identified farmers in Mbulu Owo Community, Nkanu East Local Government Area.
The fertilizer distribution, which took place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, saw beneficiaries receive one bag of organic natural fertilizer each, as part of ongoing efforts to improve agricultural productivity, boost food production and enhance farmers’ harvest yields across Enugu State.
The handing-over ceremony was performed by Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor, a stakeholder and Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Nnajiofor urged the farmers to make judicious and proper use of the fertilizer, stressing that responsible application would contribute to improved yields, sustainable farming practices and greater food production.
He also encouraged the farmers to continue supporting and appreciating Governor Peter Mbah for what he described as the administration’s sustained commitment to agriculture and agro-industrial development in the state.
According to him, the state government has continued to support farmers through the provision of agricultural equipment, farming implements, fertilizers, improved stems and other agricultural inputs, alongside policies, programmes and incentives designed to strengthen the agricultural value chain.
Nnajiofor noted that the Governor’s agricultural interventions are aimed not only at supporting individual farmers but also at strengthening food security, encouraging agricultural enterprise and creating a more productive and sustainable farming environment across Enugu State.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chairlady, Mrs. Regina Nnajiodo, expressed appreciation to Governor Mbah for remembering and supporting farmers in the community.
She commended the Governor’s people-oriented policies, programmes and projects, describing the fertilizer distribution as another demonstration of his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare and productivity of farmers.
The beneficiaries also appreciated Rt. Hon. Nnajiofor for facilitating the distribution and ensuring that the fertilizer reached genuine and identified farmers within the community.
While expressing appreciation for the intervention, the farmers appealed to the state government to make additional fertilizer supplies available, noting that several other farmers in the community were yet to benefit from the agricultural support programme.
Responding to the request, Nnajiofor assured the farmers that their concerns would be communicated to the state government.
He further explained that agricultural support items had already been distributed to farmers across various parts of Enugu State through the appropriate channels, while assuring the beneficiaries that efforts would continue to ensure that deserving farmers are not sidelined.
The latest intervention further underscores the Enugu State Government’s emphasis on agriculture as a key component of its broader development strategy, particularly in the areas of food security, rural development, agricultural productivity and agro-industrialisation.
