THE Anambra State Government has launched a redesigned official digital gateway aimed at making government services, public information and citizen engagement more accessible online.
The new platform brings together government services, digital tools and public information in a single online gateway for residents, businesses, investors, visitors and development partners.
Unlike a conventional government website focused mainly on news and announcements, the redesigned platform is structured around services that citizens and other users require. These include access to government services, identification services, business registration, issue reporting, citizen feedback and grievance-redress channels.
The platform also connects users to digital government tools, including SmartGov and NORA, the state’s digital assistant, while providing channels for Freedom of Information requests and other forms of citizen engagement.
Open Government and Public Data
A major component of the new digital gateway is its Open Government section, which provides access to state budgets, citizens’ budgets, budget implementation reports, audit reports, procurement plans, contract awards, open data and other government records.
The platform also provides information on investment opportunities and the state’s business environment, covering areas including manufacturing, technology, real estate, agriculture, tourism and public-private partnerships.
The initiative forms part of Anambra State’s broader digital transformation programme, with the government indicating that additional public services, information and digital tools will continue to be integrated into the state’s digital ecosystem.
The state’s ICT Agency has previously outlined a goal of moving government websites beyond information dissemination towards platforms that enable citizens to access actual services digitally, reducing unnecessary physical visits to government offices.
The development further expands Anambra’s digital-government infrastructure and provides citizens with additional online channels for accessing government services, obtaining public information and engaging relevant government institutions.
