ENUGU, NIGERIA — The administration of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has intensified its digital transformation agenda with the training of over 15,000 civil and public servants across the state.

The initiative forms part of the administration’s broader efforts to modernise the Enugu State Public Service, improve efficiency and equip government personnel with the digital competencies required to operate effectively in an increasingly technology-driven environment.

The large-scale training programme underscores Governor Mbah’s commitment to building a modern, responsive and digitally capable public service, capable of delivering faster, more efficient and citizen-focused services.

Through sustained investment in digital skills and capacity development, the administration is strengthening the ability of civil and public servants to effectively utilise emerging technologies in their daily responsibilities.

The initiative is also expected to support the ongoing digitalisation of government processes, reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and improve service delivery across Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Enugu State Government.

Governor Mbah’s digital transformation agenda is anchored on the recognition that a technology-enabled public service is essential to achieving the state’s wider development objectives, particularly its ambition of building a $30 billion economy.

Beyond improving government operations, the training programme represents a significant investment in human capital, ensuring that public servants are adequately prepared for the changing demands of modern governance.

The administration has continued to place strong emphasis on technology, innovation, digital skills and institutional reform as key drivers of economic growth and sustainable development.

With more than 15,000 civil and public servants already benefiting from the capacity-building initiative, the Enugu State Government is steadily positioning its workforce to become more productive, technology-driven and responsive to the needs of citizens.

The development further reinforces Governor Mbah’s vision of transforming Enugu into a digitally enabled, economically vibrant and globally competitive state, where technology serves as a critical tool for improving governance and expanding opportunities for citizens.
