Dr. Peter Mbah Names Enugu Air Board Chairman for Transport Ministry.

Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of Barr. Richard Agu, Chairman of the Board of Enugu Air, as Commissioner-Designate for the Enugu State Ministry of Transport.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Agu’s name has been forwarded to the Enugu State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in accordance with the law. His appointment will become substantive upon successful confirmation by the lawmakers.
Agu previously served as Chairman of the Board of Enugu Air, a position to which he was appointed in December 2025. He was also identified in March 2026 as the airline’s Board Chairman during the presentation of its Air Operator Certificate by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.
The nomination comes as the Enugu State Government continues efforts to strengthen the state’s transportation and mobility sector, with ongoing investments in road infrastructure, transport terminals and aviation.
If confirmed by the State House of Assembly, Agu will take over the Transport Ministry as the new Commissioner.
