Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has inspected major ongoing infrastructure and development projects across the state, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to quality execution, timely delivery and infrastructure-led economic transformation.

The inspection covered the 38-kilometre Owo–Ikem Dual Carriageway, the New Enugu City and the Enugu International Hospital, among other strategic projects. The exercise also provided an opportunity to assess progress firsthand and address implementation issues affecting project delivery.

At the Owo–Ikem Dual Carriageway, significant progress was recorded on the major road project. The inspection comes as construction continues on the strategic corridor, which is expected to improve connectivity, facilitate the movement of people and goods and stimulate economic activities across communities along the route.

The Governor also inspected the New Enugu City, the administration’s flagship urban development project. According to the Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, the primary road network has been completed, while construction of the secondary and tertiary road networks is progressing, with the remaining road infrastructure scheduled for completion by December 2026.

At the Enugu International Hospital, substantial progress was also observed, with key installations completed and landscaping and external finishing works ongoing. The project is designed to strengthen specialised healthcare delivery and position Enugu as a major healthcare destination.

The inspection underscores the administration’s integrated approach to infrastructure development, combining road expansion, urban renewal and healthcare investment to support economic growth and improve the quality of life of residents.

The projects form part of the wider infrastructure programme of the Mbah administration, which seeks to improve connectivity, unlock economic opportunities, attract investment and create modern infrastructure capable of supporting Enugu’s long-term development.

Enugu Media Village (EMV) reports that the continued monitoring of major projects reflects the administration’s emphasis on translating development plans into visible and measurable outcomes across the state.
