ENUGU — The Senior Special Assistant to the Enugu State Governor on Research & Strategy, Hon. Engr. Uche Kelvin Edeh, has congratulated the newly elected Executive Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, following the conclusion of the local government elections.
Edeh described their emergence as an important milestone in strengthening grassroots administration and promoting responsive governance across the state.
In his congratulatory message, the SSA urged the newly elected council chairmen to see their mandates as a responsibility to serve the people and contribute meaningfully to the development of their respective local government areas.
He called on the new council leaders to prioritise projects and programmes that directly address the needs of residents, particularly in the areas of basic infrastructure, healthcare, education, sanitation, local economic development and social services.
Edeh also stressed the importance of transparency, accountability and responsible management of public resources, noting that effective local government administration requires close engagement with communities and other relevant stakeholders.
He encouraged the chairmen to work collaboratively with the administration of His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, as well as traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women groups, and other stakeholders, in advancing the broader development agenda of Enugu State.
According to him, strong and effective local government institutions are essential to ensuring that government policies and development initiatives translate into tangible improvements in the lives of citizens at the grassroots.
Edeh expressed confidence that the newly elected chairmen would justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate through purposeful leadership, inclusive governance and a strong commitment to the welfare of their constituents.
He wished all 17 Executive Chairmen a successful tenure and urged them to make service, accountability and grassroots development the defining priorities of their administrations.
