NGE President, Eze Anaba, commends Enugu’s infrastructure drive; former Ogun Governor Segun Osoba urges governors to emulate Mbah’s security architecture.

ENUGU — The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has commended the infrastructural development and security initiatives of the Enugu State Government under Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, following a tour of major projects across the state.
The commendation came during an interactive session between the Guild and Governor Mbah at the Government House, Enugu, after members of the NGE toured several major projects executed by the administration on the sidelines of the 2026 All Nigerian Editors Conference (ANEC).
The conference brought together more than 300 editors, senior media executives and media veterans.
Speaking during the engagement, NGE President, Eze Anaba, described the infrastructure witnessed across the state as evidence of what a sub-national government could achieve through deliberate governance and effective deployment of resources.
“There’s a solid infrastructure on ground that will grow the economy, that will expand the state,” Anaba said.
He recalled that the Guild had also visited Enugu during its previous convention, where members inspected projects including Smart Schools, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training College at GTC, roads, modern transport terminals, rehabilitated industries and water infrastructure.
According to him, the latest tour provided an opportunity to witness additional projects, including the completed Enugu International Hospital, major road networks, the 40-kilometre Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu-Umualor-Ikem dual carriageway, the rehabilitated Hotel Presidential, a Smart Secondary School, the tourism development at Ngwo Pines and the ongoing Integrated Livestock Hub.
Anaba also highlighted the state’s Command and Control Centre, noting its role in the deployment of security infrastructure across Enugu.
Reflecting on Governor Mbah’s administration slogan, “Tomorrow Is Here,” the NGE President said the projects witnessed during the tour gave practical meaning to the message.
The NGE President further commended the practice of peer learning among state governments, noting that officials from other states had visited Enugu to understudy some of the administration’s policies and programmes.
Meanwhile, former Governor of Ogun State and veteran journalist, Chief Segun Osoba, also commended the Mbah administration, particularly its investment in technology-driven security infrastructure.
Speaking at the gala marking the end of the conference, Osoba referenced the deployment of Enugu’s security assets following the reported kidnapping incident at Affa in Udi Local Government Area, noting that the security response led to the recovery of the victims.
He urged other state governors to study and adopt similar technology-driven approaches to security.
Governor Mbah, in his response, thanked the editors and media executives for taking time to tour some of the projects across the state, stressing the importance of allowing the media to directly assess government projects and programmes.
The tour and subsequent engagements formed part of activities marking the 2026 All Nigerian Editors Conference hosted in Enugu.
