Vice President Kashim Shettima has said the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration are creating an environment that is enabling Nigerian-owned businesses to expand beyond the country and compete successfully on the global stage.
Shettima made the assertion while highlighting the growing international presence of indigenous Nigerian companies, noting that firms such as Flutterwave, Moniepoint and Andela demonstrate the capacity of Nigerian entrepreneurs to build globally competitive enterprises.
According to the Vice President, the reforms are designed not only to strengthen the Nigerian economy but also to create opportunities for businesses to innovate, attract investment, expand their operations and generate employment.
He stressed the importance of supporting indigenous enterprises as key drivers of economic growth, particularly in a period when Nigeria is seeking to diversify its economy, strengthen local production and position its private sector for greater participation in the global economy.
The development also underscores the Federal Government’s broader Renewed Hope Agenda, which places emphasis on economic reforms, private-sector growth, investment and job creation.
The Tinubu administration has continued to defend its reforms as necessary measures for building a stronger and more competitive Nigerian economy, while encouraging businesses to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
Shettima’s remarks come amid increasing attention on Nigerian technology and service companies that are expanding their footprints across Africa and other international markets.
For Nigeria’s young entrepreneurs and growing business community, the message is significant: sustainable economic transformation will increasingly depend on the ability of indigenous companies to move from local success to international competitiveness.
