Grassroots Mobilisation to Begin in November as Movement Targets Communities, Wards and Polling Units Across Enugu State.
Enugu Media Village (EMV), the Most Updated Online News Platform — October 24, 2026.
NIGERIA’S MINISTER of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, is set to launch a grassroots political mobilisation movement known as As Tinubu and Mbah Move (ATM) to support the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
As part of preparations for the planned launch, the minister has unveiled 17 branded Toyota buses to support the movement’s mobilisation activities and strengthen its presence across communities, wards and polling units in Enugu State.
The development was disclosed during a strategy meeting held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the ATM secretariat, where members reviewed the movement’s organisational structure and preparations for its formal unveiling.
The initiative is expected to establish a coordinated grassroots network through which supporters can engage residents, mobilise eligible voters and promote the political objectives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Udeh Calls for Results-Driven Political Mobilisation
Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Udeh urged members to make the movement different from conventional political support groups by focusing on measurable results rather than mere public declarations of support.
He expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah, charging members to work towards electoral victories for the APC, particularly in the presidential and governorship contests.
The minister emphasised that the movement must translate its activities into practical grassroots engagement, stressing the importance of reaching voters at the community level.
He urged members to take responsibility for mobilisation within their respective communities, wards and polling units, noting that effective political participation requires sustained engagement with voters.
Udeh also explained that ATM was established to provide members with a platform to connect with political leaders and participate more actively in party activities.
According to him, such engagement could create opportunities for members to communicate issues affecting their communities to relevant government officials.
Describing himself as not being a career politician, the minister highlighted integrity and the fulfilment of commitments as important principles in his dealings with people. He also pledged to spend more time in the South-East during the campaign period to coordinate the movement’s activities.
Local Government Mobilisation to Commence in November
Earlier, the ATM Coordinator, Igboke Onyebuchi, explained that the strategy meeting was convened to establish and ratify the movement’s structures ahead of the planned commencement of local government-level mobilisation in November.
He described ATM as a political movement rather than an ordinary support group, noting that its membership includes community mobilisers, union leaders and individuals from the civic space.
Onyebuchi said some members were motivated by their desire to support Governor Mbah and acknowledge his role in Udeh’s appointment as a minister.
He also expressed appreciation to the minister for providing a platform through which individuals could participate in the political process, adding that the movement hoped to create greater opportunities for young people with strong professional and intellectual backgrounds.
Community-Based Strategy to Drive Engagement
According to the coordinator, ATM intends to adopt an innovative, community-based approach to political mobilisation, with particular attention to rural communities and the strengthening of existing APC grassroots structures.
He disclosed that a community map had been developed to guide the movement’s engagement with residents and support the coordination of its activities.
The planned deployment of the 17 branded Toyota buses is expected to provide logistical support for the movement’s outreach and coordination efforts as preparations advance towards the 2027 elections.
The proposed strategy places emphasis on establishing structures across local governments, communities, wards and polling units, with members expected to contribute to the movement’s outreach objectives.
Political Significance Ahead of the 2027 Elections
The planned launch of ATM comes as political stakeholders and support groups begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
For the movement, the immediate task will be to translate its announced structure, logistical preparations and grassroots network into sustained engagement with eligible voters.
Its effectiveness will depend on the ability of its members to organise locally, communicate their political message and maintain meaningful contact with residents across the state.
While the unveiling of the 17 buses signals a significant logistical step in the movement’s preparations, the planned November mobilisation will provide an opportunity to assess how effectively its structures operate at the local government and ward levels.
The movement has identified support for President Tinubu and Governor Mbah as its central political objective ahead of the 2027 polls.
