Governor Addresses APC Grand Rally at Amagunze, Speaks on Grassroots Development and the Need for Coordinated Leadership.

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has called on members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and support the party’s candidates in the forthcoming local government elections, while highlighting the development initiatives of his administration across the state.
The governor made the remarks on Thursday at Amagunze, headquarters of Nkanu East Local Government Area, during an APC grand rally jointly organised by Nkanu East and Nkanu West Local Government Areas ahead of the September 26 council elections.
Addressing party supporters and stakeholders, Governor Mbah cautioned against what he described as attempts to encourage split voting, urging APC supporters to vote for the party’s candidates across the various positions on the ballot.
He said the party’s candidates should be supported as a team, stressing the importance of coordinated political representation at the grassroots level.
“Let no one lie to you. Let no one deceive you about splitting your votes by voting different candidates of different political parties for different positions.”
The governor also used the occasion to speak about his administration’s development agenda, pointing to investments in infrastructure, education and primary healthcare as areas where the government has sought to extend development to communities across Enugu State.
Among the projects highlighted were the administration’s road construction programme, Smart Green Schools and Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, which the governor presented as part of efforts to strengthen public infrastructure and improve access to essential services.
The rally also provided an opportunity for political leaders from Nkanu East and Nkanu West to discuss grassroots development and the role of local government administrations in complementing state-level initiatives.
Member representing Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnoli Nnaji, commended Governor Mbah’s development initiatives and referenced interventions in Nkanu East, including the provision of electricity transformers to the 14 wards in the local government area.
The event was attended by Senator Kevin Chukwunwike, APC Deputy National Chairman (South) Dr. Ben Nwoye, South-East APC Zonal Woman Leader Dr. Oby Ajih, APC Enugu State Chairman Dr. Martin Chukwunwike, members of the National and State Assemblies, local political leaders, candidates and party supporters.
The gathering came as political parties concluded their campaigns ahead of the September 26 local government elections in Enugu State.
For Nkanu East, the rally further brought together party stakeholders and supporters around discussions on grassroots leadership, development and political participation as the council elections approach.
