As our dear nation, Nigeria, commemorates her 66th Independence Anniversary, I extend my warmest greetings and profound goodwill to the people of Enugu State and to Nigerians across the country and around the world.
This anniversary provides us with another opportunity to reflect on our journey as a nation, honour the sacrifices of those who contributed to the attainment and preservation of our independence, and reaffirm our collective faith in the Nigerian project.
At 66, our story remains one of resilience, diversity, courage and an enduring determination to build a nation that works for all. While we acknowledge the challenges before us, we must equally recognise the enormous possibilities that lie ahead and remain steadfast in our responsibility to build a stronger, more prosperous and united Nigeria.
For us in Enugu State, our commitment remains clear: to build a state where good governance translates into tangible improvements in the lives of our people; where infrastructure drives economic growth; where education and human capital development open new opportunities; and where every citizen can aspire to a better future.
Our administration will continue to pursue policies and programmes anchored on development, accountability, enterprise, security, inclusion and sustainable economic growth. We shall remain focused on creating the conditions necessary for our people, particularly our young population, to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our state and nation.
I therefore call on all Enugu citizens to continue to uphold the values that bind us together — patriotism, peace, unity, hard work, tolerance and responsible citizenship. The task of building the Enugu and Nigeria of our dreams is a shared responsibility, and our collective efforts today will define the opportunities available to generations yet unborn.
On this historic occasion, let us renew our faith in Nigeria, strengthen our commitment to one another, and look to the future with confidence and hope.
