Pioneer Students to Receive Free Tuition, Uniforms and Daily Meals as Institution Begins Operations.

ENUGU — The Federal Government has commenced academic activities at the newly established Federal Technical College, Eke, in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, marking the operational take-off of a new federal institution focused on technical and vocational education.
The Principal of the college, Mr. Gideon Angbeye, announced the commencement while addressing prospective pioneer students and their parents at the institution’s supplementary examination centre in Eke.
According to him, the Federal Government has provided comprehensive funding for the pioneer students, including free tuition, school uniforms and quality daily meals throughout their period of study. He also disclosed that funding had been secured to support students’ feeding and welfare during the initial operational period.
The college’s curriculum is designed around practical technical training. The programme will progress from foundational theory and technical principles to intensive workshop-based practical exposure and, ultimately, integrated mastery combining advanced practical application with academic knowledge.
The institution is also developing partnerships with technical and industrial research organisations, including the Projects Development Institute (PRODA), Enugu, and the Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), to strengthen experiential learning and expose students to practical industrial applications.
The Principal described the college as part of efforts to address Nigeria’s skills gap and develop a technically skilled workforce capable of contributing to the country’s industrial and technological development.
He also appreciated the Eke community for its cooperation and support towards the establishment and smooth commencement of activities at the institution. Community members have similarly expressed their readiness to support the college and its students.
The commencement of academic activities at the Federal Technical College, Eke, adds a new dimension to technical education opportunities available to young people in Enugu State and the wider South-East.
