ENUGU, NIGERIA — The Enugu Media Village (EMV), under the leadership of Hon. Engr. Uche Kelvin Edeh (UKE), Director General, has continued its accountability and civic engagement initiative with an interactive session with Rt. Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, the Honourable Member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
The engagement was held at the lawmaker’s residential office in Ugwuaji Community, Enugu South Local Government Area, where he received the EMV delegation for an extensive discussion on legislative representation, constituency consultation, project attraction, empowerment initiatives and his vision for the people he represents.
The EMV delegation was led by Amb. Dr. PraiseGod Edeh, State Coordinator, and accompanied by Dr. Ekwe Okwudiri, Media Director; Amb. John ChukwuOrji, EMV Editor; Miss. Liko Gift Amarachi, EMV Reporter; and the media team.
A Direct Conversation on Representation:
The engagement was designed to provide a direct platform for the lawmaker to account to the people on his activities and interventions while also allowing EMV to examine the extent to which legislative representation is connected to the needs and aspirations of constituents.
In his opening response, Rt. Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu warmly welcomed Amb. Dr. PraiseGod Edeh and members of his entourage, expressing his readiness to engage with the accountability process.
Daily Consultation and an Open-System Approach:
During the discussion, Amb. Dr. PraiseGod Edeh engaged the lawmaker on how frequently he consults with constituents and the mechanisms he employs to understand their concerns and ensure effective representation.
Responding, Rt. Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu stated that he consults with his constituents practically on a daily basis, describing his approach to representation as an open system.
