Enugu Media Village Interviewed Enugu Lawmakers on Legislative Representation, Constituency Development and Grassroots Accountability.

ENUGU, NIGERIA — The Enugu Media Village (EMV) yesterday, 24th August, 2026 held an Accountability and Engagement Discussion at the Enugu State House of Assembly Complex, engaging members of the State House of Assembly on issues surrounding legislative representation, constituency development, people-focused initiatives and effective engagement with constituents.
EMV Leadership Drives Accountability Initiative:
The engagement was led by Amb. Dr. PraiseGod Edeh, State Coordinator, Enugu Media Village, under the leadership of Hon. Engr. Uche Kelvin Edeh (UKE).
The initiative reflects EMV’s commitment to promoting accountability, transparency, responsible leadership and constructive engagement between elected representatives and the people they serve.
Three Lawmakers Interviewed by Enugu Media Village:
As part of the engagement, EMV interviewed three members of the Enugu State House of Assembly: Hon. Ejike Jude Eze, the Chief Whip of the House and honourable member representing Igboeze North 1 Constituency; Hon. Hyginus Osita Okoh, honourable member representing Enugu East Urban Constituency; and Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze, honourable member representing Ezeagu Constituency.

The interviews provided the lawmakers with an opportunity to speak on their legislative responsibilities, constituency interventions and efforts toward addressing the needs and aspirations of their constituents.
Key Questions on Legislative and Constituency Responsibilities:
During the discussions, the State Coordinator engaged the lawmakers on several important issues relating to their legislative and constituency responsibilities.
Key areas included bill and motion sponsorship, attraction of development projects to their respective constituencies, empowerment programmes for women and youths, and the organisation of periodic town hall meetings with constituents.
These areas of engagement were aimed at examining how legislative representation translates into practical benefits, effective communication and inclusive development at the grassroots.
Lawmakers Respond Positively to Accountability Questions:
The lawmakers responded positively to the issues raised, providing explanations on their respective legislative activities, constituency interventions and approaches to engaging with the people they represent.
