Enugu Media Village Inspects Governor Peter Mbah’s Transformational Projects, Assesses Local Government Performance, and Inaugurates Udi LGA Working Committee
As part of its ongoing statewide accountability and grassroots governance initiative, the Enugu Media Village, led by its Director General, Hon. Engr. Uche Kelvin Edeh (UKE), on Monday, July 27, 2026, embarked on a comprehensive project assessment and accountability visit to Udi Local Government Area.
The delegation was warmly received at the Udi Local Government Headquarters by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Hyginus Ogbonnia Agu, alongside members of the Local Government Executive Council, traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women representatives, and other critical stakeholders.
The visit forms part of Enugu Media Village’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, civic engagement, and documenting the impact of the transformational development agenda of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State, across the 17 Local Government Areas.
Major State and Local Government Projects Receive Commendation
During the inspection, the delegation commended the significant developmental strides being recorded in Udi Local Government through projects executed by both the Enugu State Government and the Udi Local Government Administration.
Projects Executed by the Enugu State Government
The team inspected and applauded several ongoing and completed projects initiated under the administration of Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, including:
- Construction and equipping of Smart Green Schools with ICT laboratories, solar-powered facilities, and modern digital learning infrastructure.
- Upgrade and equipping of Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres to provide quality 24-hour healthcare services.
- Ongoing construction and rehabilitation of rural and farm-to-market roads to improve connectivity and agricultural productivity.
- Rehabilitation of water infrastructure aimed at restoring potable water supply to Udi and surrounding communities.
- Agricultural support programmes providing farmers with improved inputs, training, and modern farming techniques.
- Strengthening of security through the deployment of the Distress Response Squad and enhanced support for community security structures.
Projects Executed by Udi Local Government
The delegation also commended the administration of Hon. Hyginus Ogbonnia Agu for implementing people-oriented projects, including:
- Strategic road rehabilitation and drainage projects across urban and rural communities.
- Renovation and modernization of the Udi Local Government Secretariat to improve administrative efficiency and service delivery.
- Rehabilitation of markets and Primary Health Centres to improve access to essential public services.
- Youth and women empowerment initiatives through skills acquisition programmes, scholarships, business grants, and entrepreneurship support.
- Procurement of modern security equipment and strengthened collaboration with community policing structures.
- Strategic interventions to improve electricity supply and support local businesses, particularly within communities such as Obinagu.
The delegation described the projects as practical evidence of a shared commitment by the State and Local Governments to improving the quality of life of the people of Udi.
Interactive Accountability Session
A major highlight of the visit was an interactive accountability session between the Director General of Enugu Media Village, Hon. Engr. Uche Kelvin Edeh (UKE), and the Executive Chairman of Udi Local Government Area.
Discussions focused on critical sectors including security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, agriculture, youth empowerment, economic development, and staff welfare.
Responding to questions from the delegation, Hon. Hyginus Ogbonnia Agu expressed appreciation to Enugu Media Village for promoting accountability and constructive engagement between government and the people.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to ensure that the people of Udi continue to benefit from sustainable development and the dividends of democracy.
The Chairman emphasized that his administration remains focused on infrastructure development, human capital investment, youth empowerment, improved healthcare, security, and policies that enhance the overall well-being of residents.
Enugu Media Village Inaugurates Udi LGA Working Committee
One of the defining moments of the visit was the official inauguration of the Enugu Media Village Udi Local Government Working Committee.
Following a request by the Director General, Hon. Engr. Uche Kelvin Edeh (UKE), the inauguration was performed by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Hyginus Ogbonnia Agu.
The Chairman charged members of the committee to remain dedicated, objective, and professional in carrying out their responsibilities while promoting transparency, accountability, responsible civic engagement, and effective communication between government and the people.

Enugu Media Village reaffirmed its commitment to independently documenting developmental projects, promoting constructive engagement between government and citizens, and ensuring that the people of Enugu State remain informed about the progress being made across all 17 Local Government Areas.
