  • ENUGU MEDIA VILLAGE VISITS OJI RIVER LGA, SCHEDULES FOLLOW-UP ACCOUNTABILITY ASSESSMENT

Transparency and Accountability Remain Central to Enugu Media Village’s Grassroots Governance Initiative

As part of its ongoing statewide grassroots accountability tour, the Enugu Media Village on Monday, July 27, 2026, paid an official accountability and project assessment visit to Oji River Local Government Area.

The visit forms part of the organization’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance across the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, while providing citizens with credible and factual information on governance and development at the grassroots.

During the visit, the Enugu Media Village delegation engaged with the Executive Chairman of Oji River Local Government Area, Hon. Greg Chijioke Anyaegbudike, in an interactive accountability session. The Chairman was invited to outline his administration’s vision, developmental achievements, ongoing projects, and the impact of his policies on the people of Oji River.

Although the engagement was cordial and constructive, the delegation observed that sufficient details and supporting information on the administration’s projects were not presented to enable a comprehensive assessment and documentation of the Local Government’s developmental activities.

In line with its commitment to fairness, professionalism, and objective reporting, the Enugu Media Village delegation will return to Oji River Local Government Area on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to continue the accountability exercise.

The follow-up visit will provide Hon. Greg Chijioke Anyaegbudike with the opportunity to present ongoing and completed projects, outline his administration’s achievements, and showcase the developmental initiatives being implemented for the benefit of the people of Oji River.

Speaking after the visit, the Director General of Enugu Media Village, Hon. Engr. Uche Kelvin Edeh (UKE), reaffirmed that the organization’s accountability tour is not intended to criticize or undermine any Local Government administration. Rather, it is a professional initiative aimed at documenting verifiable projects, encouraging openness in governance, and strengthening public confidence through factual reporting.

He emphasized that every Local Government Chairman deserves the opportunity to showcase his administration’s achievements, while the people equally deserve access to accurate and verifiable information about projects executed with public resources.

Enugu Media Village remains committed to conducting its accountability engagements with fairness, professionalism, and integrity. Every report published by the organization will be based on facts, physical inspection of projects, and direct interaction with government officials and community stakeholders.

The organization looks forward to a productive follow-up engagement with the Chairman and his team and remains steadfast in its mission of promoting transparency, accountability, and people-centered governance across Enugu State.

Signed
